the tightness forms around my neck, it is pushing me
down and
down and
i’m angry at what you did to me
you spit out words about welcoming your family
and even though you are a mother you still can’t see
that you’re drowning in your own
hypocrisy.
in your courageous move to set yourself free you’ve
locked yourself in
and
swallowed the key.
what is it that you
even ever wanted
from me
-to cover your own insecurity?
to give you the job
the green light
the attention
for
your pregnancy?
you didn’t care
you were
in the car
you ran on the lowest
frequency
and still you attacked and
kept notes on their delinquency.
they were shadows the shadows that
hid your
inability
to change
to get better to see
with clarity.
don’t tell me whether or not
i should change the key.
where i should send your barely earned money.
just leave us alone-
you are no longer
part
of this family.
