thank you mr. president

ten things i already love about you, my president:

1. you believed this was possible.
2. you had lunch with past presidents to learn from them. i believe that the greatest show of humility is to ask someone else for advice.
3. your kids have chores. even in the white house.
4. you did not come out into the crowd at the capitol with a big toothy grin. instead, you were confident and showed respect for the awesome task that lay ahead of you.
5. you closed your eyes to pray.
6. you hold hands with michelle.
7. you have inspired millions of people to vote, to hope, to be proud, and to move forward. things they have never done before.
8. you convinced even the non-believers.
9. your words are not cloudy and muddled and circumlocutory but crisp and clear and full of common sense
10. you make the world feel smaller which makes me feel as if things are, in fact, possible
